GET YOUR SKIN WINTER READY

Frankton Flyer - Monthly Beauty Column

June 2019

As much as its important to cleanse, tone and moisturise every day, there’s several ways you can also keep your skin hydrated through winter and therefore keeping the skin looking well-nourished and healthy.

Exfoliating the Skin Once a Week

By exfoliating the skin using either a granular scrub or an enzyme peel every week helps remove dead skin cells that build up on the skin day after day. By removing this build up, you let the skin ultimately absorb up to 30% more product within the skin layers, leaving the skin smoother, brighter and working to its optimal production.

Serums used Nightly

There are lots of different serums that can be used and they all contain ingredients that work on specific skin types and concerns.

A good all rounder serum is one that contains ‘Hyaluronic Acid’

Hyaluronic acid is a water molecule that is naturally produced within the skin’s cells. With pollution, sun damage and ageing, the cells begin to deplete this moisture, therefore leaving the skin dehydrated, dull and causing premature aging such as fine lines and wrinkles.

When using a Hyaluronic acid serum, its best to apply underneath a night cream before bed, this will therefore penetrate into the dermis and regenerate the cells while you sleep, giving them a plumped out and well hydrated appearance.
